Penn South Campus Tree Map and Signage
About the Penn South Tree Map
The Penn South tree map further down on this webpage reveals the campus’ fascinating tree diversity. Using the arborist’s survey, each tree is categorized based on genus and grouped thusly: large canopy tree, medium canopy tree, flowering trees, understory tree, and conifer tree. Each group is assigned an RGB color, within which each genus has a different shade. These categories are not only recognizable to the public but allow the designers to understand the tree groupings and larger scale ecological flows to make better decisions regarding new tree plantings and ongoing campus planning. |
